DIET, Kalahandi is situated at Naktiguda of Bhawanipatna Municipality. It is only 01 KM away from Bhawanipatna Bus stand and is well connected with pucca road. It is situated in the heart of Bhawanipatna town. It started as Secondary Training School on 26.08.1961 and subsequently upgraded to DIET on 11.11.1988. It is the nodal institution at the district level to transact pre-service and in-service training. It organizes and support teacher professional development and leadership development programmes for teachers of elementary schools on a continued basis. It addresses district specific material development and action research programmes for special groups in the district. It develops district academic plans and monitors the quality of schools and teaching. It plays a key role in developing the quality of elementary education in Kalahandi district.
